Refund Policy

Refund eligibility, cancellation terms, and deposit rules for Laurelfield Business Advisory consultations and workshops.

This Refund Policy applies to advisory consultations, workshops, and related services offered by Laurelfield Business Advisory (“Laurelfield,” “we”). Fees are quoted in New Taiwan Dollars (TWD) unless stated otherwise in your engagement letter.

1. General principle

Laurelfield delivers professional advisory work based on scoped engagements. Refund eligibility depends on work completed, cancellation timing, and the consultation type purchased.

2. Engagement deposits

Taiwan Market Entry Planning and multi-week engagements

  • 50% deposit is due upon engagement letter signature
  • 50% balance is due upon final deliverable delivery

Before work begins: If you cancel after signing but before we start document intake, we refund the deposit minus a TWD 8,000 administrative fee.

After work begins: The deposit becomes non-refundable once Stage 3 (document intake) commences. Partial refunds for unused scope may be considered only if Laurelfield agrees in writing that substantial work was not performed.

Regulatory & Compliance Review and Partner Screening

  • Deposit of 50% at signature
  • If cancelled before research begins: full deposit refund minus TWD 5,000 administrative fee
  • If cancelled after research begins: deposit is applied to work completed; no refund for hours already spent

3. Market Sizing Workshop

Workshop fees (TWD 45,000) are due in full before the session date.

  • Cancellation 14+ days before session: Full refund
  • Cancellation 7–13 days before session: 50% refund
  • Cancellation fewer than 7 days before session: No refund; one reschedule permitted within 60 days
  • No-show without notice: No refund

4. Non-refundable items

The following are never refundable once incurred:

  • Third-party costs paid on your behalf (lab fees, translation, filing charges)
  • Completed deliverables already delivered to you
  • Travel expenses for out-of-city partner interviews already performed
  • Administrative fees stated in Section 2

5. Laurelfield cancellation

If we cancel an engagement due to unforeseen capacity constraints, we refund all prepaid fees for unperformed work within 14 business days. If we cancel a workshop, we offer a full refund or transfer to a new date at your choice.

6. Rescheduling

  • Workshops: one free reschedule if requested at least 7 days ahead
  • Multi-week engagements: timeline adjustments do not automatically entitle refunds; scope changes are documented in writing

7. Dissatisfaction with deliverables

If you believe a deliverable does not match the signed scope, notify us within 14 days of delivery with specific gaps referenced to the engagement letter. We will review and, where scope was not met, revise the deliverable or offer a partial credit toward future work. Refunds are not automatic for subjective dissatisfaction where scope was delivered.

8. No-shows

Missing a scheduled briefing, workshop, or checkpoint call without 24-hour notice may forfeit that session. Replacement sessions may be billed at TWD 3,500 per hour.

9. Refund processing

Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days to the original payment method or bank account. Bank transfer fees may be deducted where applicable.

10. Chargebacks

Contact us before initiating a payment dispute. We will work in good faith to resolve issues. Engagement letters may reference additional remedies for unjustified chargebacks after deliverables were provided per scope.
